Wanting vs. It Would be Nice

In terms of getting things done, it’s funny how people can lie to themselves. Ok, probably by people, I mean myself. But taking a close look at myself, I can see this crosses over to others as well. Getting things done, accomplishing goals, and obtaining success…requires desire. A “wanting” of these things to actually motivate you to do it. The lie therein lies in the disguise of our context. Our syntax. We say, “I want to start a business.” In actuality, unless you get up off your but and do research, learn, and take the steps necessary to move forward, you really are saying, “it would be nice…to [enter unfulfilled goal here].”

I guess the main reason I thought about this is the actual jump from two state of minds. When I realized it wasn’t good enough to say—it would be nice; and progress to actually doing something about the goals in my life. That being said…Why not out myself and state my goals right now.

1-Buy my first home
2-Change my eating habits
3-Quit Smoking
4-Become Financially Secure
5-Build my Family and army of children to take over the world! Ok, not the world, but maybe the NFL! Oh yeah!

So stop saying it’d be nice and go out there and act upon your true desires. But until you switch on the heat and the fire lights your butt in to action, you’ll still just really be saying, it would be nice…
